  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role looks at the outsourced services for M&G, what they do for the contract, data analysis for the contract and more. On a day to day basis i have multiple ad-hoc tasks to complete to aid the team with contract problems for example.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My excel skills have drastically improved as well as my social skills. This has come about because of my apprentice. I have also had the ability to learn things i wouldnt have before about the financial sector.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. I think it really helps the fact my team have been really welcoming and have not just nursed me in but thrown me in the deep end too. A great mix when starting the first corporate job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My office work is really well structured to give me a great aid for the apprenticeship programme. My apprenticeship programme with BPP has a good structure presented to me but i havent had enough sessions yet to have a real say.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gives me all the support I need, whenever i need it. A really welcoming company where everybody seems to want you to succeed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider have supplied me with a coach who I can email if I run into any problems. The coach is very responsive and i have frequent mentoring sessions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think my qualification will help me to perform better in my role by giving me a deeper understanding of the business levels and governance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • When on-boarded to M&G we are provided with access to Investment20/20 which is a great way to meet other people in a similar position to you. They have networking events which can be social as well as lectures from people in the business industry.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The culture and the people have made me feel really welcomed and not afraid to come out my shell a lot quicker than before.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?
  • Be yourself from the get-go. I was a bit shy to start with which may have heled me back but nobody here wants to see you fail, they all want to help you to ensure you can do your best.
