  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a nursery practitioner is to meet the needs of each individual child, helping them with their development whilst also working with parent/carers to encourage this. Working with other professionals such as safeguarding leads, knowing to look out for any signs of abuse, neglect or harm.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills within my apprenticeship such as confidently taking part in workshops interacting with other apprentices with confidence. I have learnt skills such as multitasking within the nursery, meeting every child’s needs.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it as it helps me develop my knowledge within childcare when working at my setting. I enjoy the workshops with other apprentices and enjoy speaking with my tutor at the end of each month to see what I’ve achieved.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised when booking workshops and calls. The tutors interact with you daily if you do have any issues you can contact them whenever. It’s structured meeting our needs as learners and gives you monthly work to complete with deadlines.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support by my tutor who contacts me regularly. We have monthly calls where we talk about my work and achievements. If we have any issues our tutor understands and supports us by extending deadlines or guiding us through our work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of support, the Bud account we use tracks our learners development. In which my provider can see where we are at, if we are behind then our tutor will support us if there’s any reason of being behind. And will praise when we are up to date and doing well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me perform better in my setting as I have learn’t more about my role as a practitioner and what needs are to be met with the children. It helps me day to day know about the EYFS and what ofsted would like to see from us practitioners.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have calls with our tutors to talk with them, helps us see what we need to improve on. The 2 hour workshops I do with my tutors is very good after work which helps us move forward within our apprenticeship completing the work and interacting with others

  • 9a. Would you recommend Scribbles Day Nursery to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s such a lovely environment to work in. All of my work colleagues at my setting are super and made me feel really welcome when I first started with them. I have learn’t a lot working there that’s also helped me progress within my apprenticeship and I know if I have any problems then I could go to my managers who are so supportive, they really do care about their employees. Always praising and rewarding us.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Scribbles Day Nursery?
  • My advice would be to do the apprenticeship they offer and if they ever have any troubles all of the managers are so kind they will support you with your needs or worries.
