  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a project manager is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with autism and learning disabilities. My primary goal is to implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) : Implementing and overseeing PBS strategies throughout my centre. Training my staffs, developing individualized plans, and creating a supportive and friendly environment to work in. I as a manager always initiate, plan, execute , monitor closely my projects that align with my centre's goals and the needs of the individuals I support. My responsibilities are: To develop and implement activities and life skills to enable them to develop any skills to give a chance to gain good quality of life. for all individuals with autism and learning disabilities I support in my centre. I focus on individual specific needs and the skills that they need. I look for any area that needs improvement . Building strong relationships with Individuals, their families, career and support networks. Collaborating effectively with day centre support worker, therapists social worker, council members GP's and other professionals. Monitoring the development and implementation of individuals PBS plans for all Service Users who attends my centre. I monitor the effectiveness of PBS interventions and making adjustments as needed. Managing timelines, budgeting and resources effectively to the required standards. Tracking progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implementing mitigation strategies, evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Stay up-to-date on current best practices in autism support, PBS and learning disability support. Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement on healthy life styles, developing life skills and over all wellbeing.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As a manager, I have learn to be more understanding of autism, appreciating the diverse ways autistic individuals experience the world. I learn to recognize and appreciate the unique strengths, challenges, and communications styles of each autistic individuals support. I have develop awareness of sensory sensitivities and how they can impact individuals behaviours and well-being. I have learn to understand different strategies to create sensory - friendly environments. My communicating skills has been very enhanced for the better. I have develop my active listening skills to truly understand the needs and perspectives of autistic individuals, who may communicate differently. I learn to communicate clearly, using visual supports and other strategies as needed. I have become more attuned to non-verbal cues and body language, which may be particularly important when interacting with autistic individuals. I have gain a thorough understanding of PBS and its focus on addressing the underlying reasons for behaviours. I have gained the understanding of Functional Behaviour Assessment ( FBA) how to conduct FBAs to identify triggers and develop effective support strategies to avoid incidents. I have develop skills to create and implement individuals PBS plans that promotes positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviours. I have learn to individualized support to prioritize the individual's needs, preferences and goals in all aspects of support and service delivery. I have develop a strong collaborative skills to work effectively with an autistic individual, their family and other professionals involved in their care. I have develop and gain strong problem - solving skills to address and challenges and find a creative solutions to meet individual needs. I have all so develop skills like: Empowerment to foster a sense of empowerment and self - advocacy in the life of individuals I support, to be resilience to navigate the emotional demands of working with individuals who may experience anxiety , meltdowns, or other challenging behaviours, inclusive leadership style that values diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all staff and individuals supported by my centre. and many more.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working at my centre because I make a positive impact on individual life. I make meaningful and engaging in creates and more positive supportive and friendly environment for my staff. Which can lead to increased job satisfaction, it reduced stress, and better outcome for the individuals they support . As a manager I genuinely invested my time and i am very passionate about my work and I find it very rewarding. I am very attentive to my service users, I contribute in building trust with my staff and individual I work with. I try make the work environment more fun and work friendly. The focus is the desire to support, empower, and advocate for autistic people. Celebrating successes, finding joy in the small victories, such as an individual achieving a personal goal or as staff member developing new skills, is essential.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Make a clear role and responsibilities for all staff member to understand, Staff to understand their role and their contribution for the success of the centre and promotes accountability. Effective communication channels to facilitate among staff management and families. Promote staff well- being, professional development, and provides regular staff supervision and guidance. Create a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration among staff members, encouraging them to share knowledge , support each other and working together as a team.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a thorough induction program that covers my organisation's values, policies, and procedures. I had training on specific information about autism spectrum, PBS, principles, including functional behaviour assessment, PBS plan development, and implementation the centre's programs, resources and tools needed to delivering a high-quality support to autistic individuals. Access to relevant technology and software sure as communication aids, sensory tools and date management system. Financial resources to support program development, staff training. Regular supervision meeting with senior manager or mentor to provide guidance, support and feedback.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have been give support from my training provider when ever I ask for help, it an ongoing support i will get for the next 24 month. and hope it continue in the future. My tutor has been very helpful so far. I will a very happy to receive their support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This leadership program will equip me with essential management skills I will need to progress in strategic planning, financial management, it will enhanced my communication and interpersonal skills. like effective communication, active listening, critical thinking. It provide a strong foundation and development. I will stay updated on new research and best practices in autism support. I will be able to engaging myself in reflective practice and self - evaluation. Able to seek out further professional development opportunities

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, We always organize social gathering like Service Users party, Staff party, staff retreat to get to know each other. Fundraising events, Sport day, walking group and work shops, Host event on newsletters for event happens in the London on list of social PBS, Autism. My organization have newsletters that list on all social events happen on Centre404 web site
