  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I developed knowledge of good coaching practice (very good for personal development) and understanding stakeholder management. Although I think that most of my learning will take place after the EPA. My Project management skills have been enhanced.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although I liked the nature of the material I was learning I didn’t enjoy the erratic nature of the course. That made it difficult to enjoy.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It could have been better organised/structured. There was lots of stopping and starting and it made steady progress feel difficult. On a VERY basic level it was organised enough (but not in a way that made it pleasant for the student).

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received adequate support from my employer and was able to take my time back when I had worked over.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support was fairly basic. A lot of it involved doing your own leg work. I believe that my personal tutor did her best in the circumstances. Adequate material was provided but as a student I was always questioning whether it was enough. For EPA it wasn’t clear on EXACTLY the format of the assessments and what to expect so I went in a little bit blind.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Coaching skills are great for personal development, stakeholder management, team working. Doing the qualification has sparked my interest in coaching and I wish to stick with that and get registered as a professional coach. It is also helping me to support organisational objectives by keeping staff engaged. Doing the qualifation has been worthwhile.
