I manage the Prison Service as part of ABL Health, whereby I have a small team of consultants who enter several prisons across England to engage people in prison with how the healthcare is being delivered in custody. We work with NHS and healthcare providers to improve processes.
I definitely have understood myself more in terms of leadership style, how to be patient but also recognise my own confidence in my leadership skills.
I had lots of support from my tutor which made it much easier to keep on track of and enjoy it. There were moments I felt stressed but my tutor supported me well and I was able to finish it feeling proud.
Really well organised. They worked with only a small number of us at ABL, so despite that being difficult for them in workshop sessions online, they were professional and organised.
I received lots of support from my line manager at the time, however she has since moved on. Since she has left, I have not had as much support.
Lots! My tutor was fantastic, a great communicator and I knew I could reach out to him for anything. He kept me in the loop with where I was at, the expectations but helped build my confidence.
It has really helped my confidence in my own ability as a leader, which I often doubted myself. I am able to organise, lead and motivate my team in ways I could not do before.
Lots of different networking events; joining up with NHS and other relevant healthcare providers.
