  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Pre-School Practitioner, where I help to look after the children, engaing in imaginative play and starting to teach them higher numbers and writing their names out. On a day to day basis I help to provide the children with exceptional care and maintain personal hygiene.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt loads of new skills throughout my apprenticeship journey so far, through different activities and webinars. I have learnt lots of interesting information through webinars which helped to me develop my understanding and my skills when back in my setting.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my apprenticeship programme as I find it very easy to work on, as it can work around my schedule and when i’m working. One of the aspects that I really enjoy is the webinars because they teach me lots of new information on topics that i’m working on.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think that my programme is very well organised, as we are presented with a planner which has all of the important dates on that we need (webinars and calls with my trainer) which is very helpful in making sure everything is planned with my setting and myself.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my employer and my colleagues (as one of them also is doing an apprenticeship with realise) so I get loads of support and help through certain topics.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive lots of help and support from my training provider, as we do face to face zoom calls where we discuss my work and what I can do to improve on my independent work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my in progress qualification is helping me to perform better in my role in many different ways. My qualification is helping me to perform better, as it has thought me different aspects of my job that I wouldn’t have known as much about if I hadn’t been doing this apprenticeship.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my setting, we have some extra-curricular activities for the children to me involved in which is Football. We have a football session for the children at my setting to take part in as a form of exercise and gross motor skills.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Little Gems Pre-School to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would suggest Little Gems Pre-School to my friends, for both a work environment and also a pre-school setting for children as it is a great environment with lots of toys and activities to engage the children and help them to develop their educational skills.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Little Gems Pre-School?
  • There aren’t many tips that anyone would need if applying to Little Gems Pre-School, but the main one I would give is just to be yourself because that’s the best version of yourself.
