To work as a key person as part of our nursery team under the direction of the deputy manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending our setting.
On top of the practical skills, like thinking on my feet and clearing up after children, there's also a deeper appreciation of child development and how that relates to my learning provision. The real skill is knowing them and engaging their interests.
Very much so. It's probably the only job I've had where I'm looking forward to getting into work for the vast majority of the time.
The apprenticeship programme itself is 'tried and tested' - it appears to be the same for everyone, although you can work through it at a faster rate if you're able to.
I don't think my employer could be any more supportive.
You are left to work through assignments on your own most of the time, but there is someone there if you really need them. There are also regular tutorials.
I had a lot of relevant experience prior to starting, but the training has added a lot of extra layers on top of that.

Not only is there a lot of expertise and quality, there is a tangible human face to it as well. Staff are dedicated to the organisation's success.
