I support people to live their best lives, this can be by helping people to have personal care, cooking and cleaning. This can also be helping them to take their medication safely and manage their finances, so that they can do activities which they enjoy.
So far I am appreciating more the skills which I do have and I have also been passing on the skills and knowledge to other people in my workplace who are new or have not undertaken some of the tasks which I have.
I enjoy spending time developing my skills and putting them into practice in my workplace. I believe that this course is giving me more self belief which I previously lacked.
The course is well structed and I am supported to complete assignments and know which parts I am meant to be working on.
My workplace have been very supportive and have given me new experiences to help with my course and also the chance to mentor others in the skills and knowledge which I have gained.
I have had regular messages from my course tutors and have been regularly asked if I need any more time on assignments. I have had regular teams meetings to talk about progress and where I am on the course.
I believe that it is giving me more self belief that I am doing a good job and where with the best intentions for the people that I support.
We sometimes have events when other care homes come to our service so that both services socialise together. We have also have a number of coffee mornings where family members have come and had a drink and to see the service.
