Customer Service Apprenticeship Review

I am an Administrator at a Import Exporting company. My day to day duties are : processing Good Receipts PO, Invoices, Credit on SAP, placing Purchase Orders with suppliers, checking deliveries, communicating with suppliers for queries such as price increases and general administration duties such as filing, shredding, data entry and working with folders and paperwork.

I have learnt new skills such as working well under pressure and working well in a fast pace environment. I have also developed skills such as multi tasking, excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas and working well independently. This makes me become a better employee. Becoming a better employee is important for me. Learning is a fun journey for me as I am achieving my goal which is to become a full time capable employee.

I enjoy my programme very well. The programme helps me to learn and understand my role effectively. If there is any advice I need, I can ask my tutor and they are more than willing to help.

My programme has very good structure. The communication between me and my work coach is consistently good. The course work is going very well. Overall, I am enjoying the programme.

I receive a good amount of support from my employer. They always make me a better employee. The work environment is a healthy fun working environment which benefits me as I want to work where I feel happy. If I have made a mistake, they will help me to learn from the mistake so I can minimise the mistakes in the future. Also, my colleagues are always there for me when I am feeling down and they will support me the best they can.

I receive a good amount of support from my training provider. Especially my tutor. She is very kind. My recent training providers have been rude to me at times and I felt very sad. But my tutor is a very kind person who is always there for me. She is also helpful with my coursework. If I have a question about my course, she is there to help me as soon as possible. There is no delays. I feel the programme helps me to perform and learn well on the job. For example, my job requires to handle customers who complain. I can go to my modules where it states how to handle aggressive customers and learn how to handle aggressive customers. This really makes an huge impact in my learning of the role.

At Ace Exports, there are activities that take place to celebrate our hard work. Before Christmas day, the team will bring food over to the office to have a nice time. On Christmas day, the team will go out to a fancy restaurant. This is a nice occasion for me as I believe socialising outside of the office is a healthy activity.

Many companies only treat you as an employee. They will always quote "This is just business". At Ace Exports, the team look after me. They would be there for me if I need support with family issues. They care about me. Having a caring working environment is important for everyone. Most of our lives we are working, so it is important to have colleagues that care about you. So yes, definitely I would recommend this employer to a friend.

The advice I would give to a person who is applying at this company is to work hard, try their best and be them selves. At Ace Exports, all they want is someone who works hard and someone who is respectful and willing to learn. They also except you for who you are, so I would recommend the person to be them selves.
