  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in Partner Remuneration (more specifically in the Fees team). The team I work in are responsible for ensuring Partners are paid on time and accurately. My day to day role includes processing Files, Raising Ad Hoc payments and liaising with the partnership / third party providers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my communication skills as I have learnt to communicate internally and externally in a professional manner. I have also learnt specific skills in using different programs such as excel in my day to day role. Overall, I feel that the experience has helped adapt to a professional environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my program and the induction period was the perfect way to prepare for my now day to day role. I am given responsibilities and it is up to me to manage my time and deadlines. I also feel that I have developed lots of life skills and the programme has provided a great way to network with others.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is well organised and set out clearly by management with support always available. I am doing a rotational role where I spend 6 months with 2 teams within the department. Alongside this I am studying for the qualification and given weekly time allocated to complete any tasks my coach/college has provided.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive weekly 1 on 1s with my line manager to catch up and a monthly hour long session to review progress. Additional support is always available if needed and I can also rely on my colleagues whenever for support or help completing tasks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I had a support coach that sets me tasks monthly to complete towards my qualification. If I have any questions or need anymore support I can email my coach with any questions I may have and they are quick to respond. I also have monthly review sessions with my coach to go over my progress and review my portfolio.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me to understand the customer and improves my communication skills in general. This impacts my daily role as I am able to efficiently and effectively resolve problems and queries raised as well as providing the best service possible.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of different activities available at SJP. There are frequent networking events and talks that anyone can register for and attend. Recently there have been events for Christmas and Diwali held at the offices which many people like to take part in.

  • 9a. Would you recommend St. James's Place to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • So far my experience of the SJP culture has been only positive and everyone I have interacted with have been lovely and always keen to support one another. The company has a big focus on team work and I feel that this makes it a great place to work at.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St. James's Place?
  • I would suggest to learn about SJPs values and culture as this is a big part of the experience. In regards to applying I would suggest being passionate and asking lots of questions and this will help you learn more about the company and the role you are applying for.
