I work in a small team, which is the a team that deals with users issues, runs scripts and helps all users. we are the second line of communication and often get tickets to ask us to resolve issues that our student record system has encountered
over the time of working here I have learnt many different IT skills ranging from SQL to understanding our student record system. I have also learnt the role of manager almost as when we upgrade our systems I am the one leading the process making sure it has been done.
I would say I have very much enjoyed and thrived in the programme. The reasons for this is every one throughout the course has made me feel welcomed as well as made sure I am understanding what is going on and very friendly and wanting to know how I am finding it
On behalf of the university I would say it was very well organised and structured so I knew what days I was doing what and where I was. On the LearnTech part it was a little messy throughout but towards the end it became a lot more structured and organised.
My manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and colleague [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] both supported me throughout making sure I was understanding what i was doing and how the course was going. When doing tasks as well they made sure to include me and described the tasks in detail so I knew where I was going when doing said task.
Towards the end of my qualification I got a lot of support due to earlier mistakes which they did apologise for. This looked like meetings every couple of days followed by revision sessions as we had test coming up which I needed to pass.
As I was new in the area it made me understand a lot more and gain a deeper knowledge throughout, this lead to me performing better as I was working alongside the studying i could take it into everyday working life.
There is a lot of social activities for us to go to as well as weekly sport team events which I have planned to go to but have not as of yet. My team often do a monthly meal when we are all in the office which is nice as it allows us to talk about something over then work
Yes
I have recommended the university to friends and family as I have really enjoyed my time here so far and have made friendships with lots of people around the university. I have also really enjoyed my studies and believe I have developed in to a valid team member
none, its very easy to understand and recommended it a lot
