Currently in one year placements in a dedicated role. This involves doing similar day to day tasks to the rest of the members of the team and also regularly meeting with external stakeholders to the finance function.
Alongside my studying for professional qualifications I can put this knowledge to use in my role. Working alongside experienced members of the functions has also helped me learn and improve how I work.
I enjoy the programme and enjoy coming to work everyday. I feel that working alongside my studying has helped me gain a lot more knowledge and allowed me to but what i've learnt into a real life experience.
I feel that I am valued well by BAE Systems. The apprentice team are always helping and sending out helpful information and opportunities. I also feel valued by my local team - I don't feel like I get treated any differently to a non-apprentice.
My programme is very well structured. I have set placement plans for the full 5 years which are based around my college timetable to i can put my knowledge to good use.
The training provider I currently use is very helpful and it is possible to get a lot of support. Emails are regularly sent out asking if extra support is required and these can be called upon if needed.
My employer is always willing to help and support me if i have any problems or am asking to do something additional to gain experience. Feels like they are wanting me to learn more as well.
If i hadn't got a place on the apprentice scheme I would have go to university to do somehting similar therefore any salary is helpdul. The salary on my scheme is very competitive and meets my costs.
I get the opportubity to help out with lots outside work. There are plenty of community initiatives and charity events organised by BAE systems to get involved in and these are easy to help with if you want.
Yes
They are a good employer who are willing to help out if you have any problems or are seeking an opportunity. Also, they are a growing company and likely to have business for a long period of time.
Definitely worth applying for a job in BAE as there are lots of additional opportunities once you have a job which you may not get from other employers.
