I am a project management business trainee, therefore day to day I am given responsiblities such as making changes to plans, monitoring and controlling progress and shaddowing team members.
Yes, I am now mroe confident and I have developed my business skills, such as knowing how to behave in a meeting, a full understanding of project management and how to be professional
Yes, I am very grateful for all the opportunities that I am offered, and the support that I get from the function and line managers.
I feel valued. I get recognition when I achieve something that helps the project team and extra curricular tasks.
There is a clear structure when on the programme, however, in terms of end roles there does not seem to be a process in place to determine where you end up. This creates quite a stressful environment within the cohort of apprentices. This is something that needs addressing.
This is a mixed response, sometimes there is support and sometimes it is lacking. For example, before a recent exam we received no emails from the tutors to say when the exam was or what equipment we needed to bring, or any form of best wishes. No revision sessions were held as outlined in the term schedule- it was very much a case of independent learning, which did not work considering the scale of the APM exam. Then on the day of the exam the course leader was not in college- for me this again creates a stressful environment amoungst the cohort.
Lots of support. Early Careers are great at being there whenever there is a problem , and we have regular contact with them to create a honest and open environment.
For now, the salary is good for someone of my age and circumstances. However, I feel that if I was living on my own (not with my parents) then I would struggle with the cost of living.
yes, I am part of a rounders team which was formed by some trainees. The social aspect of the scheme is very good.
