fixing and maintaining mechanical equipment on industrial machinery. involves conducting planned maintenance activities as well as conducting fault diagnostics on breakdowns and general repairs.
developed skills such as fault diagnostics and mechanical assembly. Developed a deeper knowledge of hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
I enjoy the variation that comes with every day as we are giving different tasks from day to day. I also enjoy the variety of machinery I get to work on and find it vary satisfying when a broken down machine is fixed.
overall the structure of the course is good with 1 year at college full time, the second year consisting of being at college one day a week, and years 3 and 4 being on site full time.
I receive the majority of support from the other engineers on my shift and my shift team leader.
I receive lots of support from my TDA who I have regular meeting to discuss my progress and any concerns I may have.
My qualification give me the basic knowledge to be able to understand how basic hydraulic and pneumatic systems work as well as the assembly of machinery. my qualification also teaches me the importants of health and safety and the legislation that must be followed.

TATA provides a wide variety of machinery to work meaning that skills can be developed in a variety of areas whilst being able to work with knowledgeable and experienced engineers.
