Creating drawings, design optioneering, clash reviews and liaising other teams such as CAD Techs.
I have had the opportunity to model through the use of scripting, I have also developed my CAD skills in a range of CAD software. I have also had the chance to develop my understanding of design through feedback and shadowing senior engineers.
There is an existing support network via the early careers team and through existing apprentices however due to the smaller size of the Scottish programme in comparison to the English version there is less information and support available to Scottish apprentices.
I receive my 20% protected time which is greatly supported by my line manager as well as monthly 1-to-1 check-ins. There are also 3 "study days" available to use to prepare for exams/ assessments which are on top of our annual leave allowance.
The University provides us with a work based learning advisor who is available to book in meetings with at any point during term time. The university also has year heads to provide support.

They are a large company with a great amount of experience with apprenticeships, they also create a very welcoming environment to employees.
