  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • When added to an engagement your work load may vary. You may have to go to the client's site or you may just work from the office or at home. This role mainly consists of not too difficult work for engagements, such as minute or media reviews. It mostly depends on which sector you get put in.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my presenting skills, my excel skills and my team working skills the most

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It largely depends on where you get put in the sector. I think I would enjoy it more if I got more work as sometimes I go large periods of time without an engagement, but other apprentices I know are always busy. When I am booked to an engagement, I do feel like I am always supported and there's always someone to answer my questions whenever I need help. When we have to study I do enjoy that too and the support provided is great

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well thought out and organised. You always know what you're meant to be doing at any given time and you always know what to expect in the future as well. You are given study days off so you don't have to do work as well which helps you not get too overloaded with work when there's an exam going up.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You will never feel short of support at KPMG. from your own managers, to engagement managers to buddies, there is always there who is able to support you no matter what. You always feel welcome to ask any questions you have and there's nothing to worry about getting confused because there is always someone there that can help guide you.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The teaching you get from BPP and the resources they provide are amazing and help you out a lot. There's always a tutor you can ask any questions you have and the extra work they set for you really helps bring everything together

    9/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It definitely aligns with the work you do and can actually make you feel more confident about your work now that you have a greater gist of what is going on. You start to understand what you are doing more and it helps you to deliver work of a higher quality

    9/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is always a social and something to get involved with here. You are always notified of volunteering opportunities in the work place and there are lots of different things you can sign up to do in the mean time.

  • 9a. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Being able to work from the office and home whenever I want is a massive win, and the pay makes you feel valued as an employee. The support here is great and the training we are provided is of a really high quality. The company is very inclusive too. I feel like i'd struggle to find another apprenticeship that ticks all the boxes that KPMG do.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • Just be yourself and don't think about it too much. Think about whether the company's values fit your values too. Try to go to the work experience stuff and sign up to the talent community. The more experience you get, the more confident you feel
