I am a developer within the team and helping to bring ideas an designs into life with code which can then be demonstrated towards clients with the intention of selling the service.
I have expanding my overall knowledge of programming and making services for clients along with developing soft skills such as communcation and presenting.
I do enjoy the work that I do and the people that I am working with though some aspects of university and work can be tedious and frustrating.
At the start it felt there was a large system and sturcutre in place but one the inital tasks of getting people into roles had been comepleted, their was less of a controlled structure.
I am actively supported by my employer on what I should do and need to improve upon.
They are supportive to an extent but there have been times where information has been missed out or support no existent. Where in some situations info was only provided when something needed to be handed in.
It does teach me the broader aspect of a company and I am able to persue learning that is related to my job role though it does not drastically improve my skills within the workplace.
Yes there are open events that are active within the workplace that I do attend for all types of people.
Yes
IBM does have a big focues on growing and developing your skills which is extremely helpful at the start or a career. They also do create a relatively safe enviroment where you can express yourself (while being professional) but that is of my own personal opinion.
Some advice... Be yourself, IBM is not just looking for the best qualified person. They want to see a human being a person, within the workplace there is a lot more to what makes a good employee then simply being good at your job.
