I joined the CBRE apprenticeship scheme in September 2022. I am a first year apprentice, in the beginning of my 4 year apprenticeship journey.
My role as an engineering apprentice is to learn practical and technical knowledge onsite, alongside gaining widely recognised qualifications. I specialise in control engineering which allows me to work with computerised systems that help the building operate.
Onsite I get to work with a number of skilled engineers with a vast variety of knowledge to help develop my skills. I learn how to work and maintain machinery and systems that are essential too keep the building up and running. At college, I learn a broad amount of topics to shape me into a multiskilled engineer. I have had the opportunity to learn how to manufacture components, test and assemble electrical circuits and, use computer software to create engineering drawings.
So far in my journey I have enjoyed developing my skills and look forward to coming in and working with the team every day. CBRE has provided me a career path to help me thrive in the engineering world and I am more than excited to continue my journey to become a qualified engineer.
