Progression
My interview with Forvis Mazars was the first time I’d been in London on my own. I had worked all the way through college and by my 18th birthday, I had joined as a school leaver, working and studying full-time.
It was a big step-up but very exciting, but it was a good balance for me as I wasn’t sure if university was the right thing. My father was terminally ill, money was tight, so I wanted to be close to my family.
Six years later, I’m a Manager in the Insurance part of the Tax team. It’s a very analytical area, not crunching numbers – with lots of writing, it’s perfect for me.
I was quick working through my exams and closed the gap on people who’d been to uni within three years. Then I moved to a big 4 firm. But I returned 18 months later.
At Forvis Mazars, there are more exciting projects you can get involved with – across a range of clients and different industries.
More exposure to senior leaders, more one-to-one coaching and more opportunities to progress.
