About the BDO Insight Programme
Ready to gain skills that jump-start your career? In a BDO Insight Programme, you’ll understand more about BDO and careers in accounting. You’ll figure out how you can grow and develop in the industry and learn from and network with our brilliant people.
Over three days, you’ll network with BDO experts, gain exposure to our business, and take part in sessions that bring our exciting, varied roles to life. The first two days will be held virtually before you join us for the final day in our London Baker Street Hub. Here, you’ll show us what you’ve learned, with the potential to be fast-tracked to the next stage of our hiring process for a School Leaver Programme. Like careers with us, this opportunity goes way beyond the ordinary.
About You
Curious. Passionate. Ambitious. You’ll also need to be a year 12 or 13 student who attends a state school and meets our social mobility criteria.
We use the Social Mobility Commission guidance to determine which jobs meet our background criteria. You’re eligible for this programme if the main earner in your household’s job is:
- Technical or craft work: motor mechanic, plumber, printer, gardener, train driver, electrician
- Routine, semi-routine, manual, and service work: postal worker, machine operative, security guard, caretaker, farm worker, sales assistant, HGV driver, cleaner, porter, packer, labourer
- Long-term unemployed: claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance or earlier unemployment benefit for over a year
If you’re not sure if your parent or guardian’s job makes you eligible, please do apply. Our team will be able to let you know if you’re eligible when they’ve received your application.
About Your Application
You’ll have to complete an online test and video interview – but we’ll send you hints and tips to help you succeed before you get started. We’ll also ask you to use our Match Me tool, which will help you learn which area of BDO is best aligned with your interests so we can make your experience as beneficial to you as possible.
You’ll need a computer and a reliable internet connection. If you don’t have access to these please let us know – we may be able to provide advice and guidance to support you.
