Test Engineer Degree Apprenticeship
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Test Engineer Apprentice (Verification and Validation) within Cyber Security Division in Airbus Defence & Space in Newport, South Wales and involves working within the UK Defence industry.
Reporting directly to the Test Manager you will be working as part of a team responsible for executing allocated Test Environment Work Packages within the agreed cost, time and quality constraints.
This role has been created due to an expansion of the business and an increase in Test effort. Day-to-day you will be working in a multi-disciplined project team, working closely with Software and Hardware development engineers in an open office environment. The role will likely entail exposure to external stakeholders.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for designing and implementing test cases to demonstrate suitability of complex products and/or systems for the Cyber Security market place.
You will be responsible for demonstrating that the developed product meets all specified legislative and customer requirements, by:
- Specifying and implementing the test solution;
- Performing in-house and/or external testing;
- Adequately executing tests and documenting test results.
Requirements:
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
- Overall 120-160 UCAS points - Must have A Levels or above (STEM subjects preferred)
OR
- 3 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Mathematics and English Language AND BTEC National Certificate at PP or BTEC National Diploma at PPP
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Submit your CV stating your grades and if they are predicted or achieved;
- Submit a Cover Letter stating your motivations.
Important Information:
GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
