We are recruiting school and college leavers, or those who want to pursue a new challenge. If you want to make a difference and develop your engineering skills, then our Signalling Design apprenticeship scheme is the ideal platform for you to do that.

What You'll Be Doing

Siemens Mobility helps to solve the problems of increasing traffic by working with railway operators to improve the capacity, punctuality, and security of their systems and to ensure that the carbon footprint produced by transportation is kept to a minimum. As part of our Mobility division, you will be part of a team helping to design solutions and systems with a real impact on the world.

As an apprentice in Siemens Rail Infrastructure, you will be working with one of the Signalling design teams based at one of our locations in the UK. You will help to provide signalling solutions to the world’s Rail networks through hands-on design experience.

How the Programme Works

Whilst on the Apprenticeship, you will be following the apprenticeship standard ST0841 Engineering Manufacturing Technician.

The programme structure includes:

• Block release (virtual).
• Working towards a formal qualification while gaining real-life project experience within the workplace.

Your Development

Embark on your journey with us whilst taking part in our fantastic apprentice development programme. We will create a personalised training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of your programme, you will be equipped with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to kickstart your professional career here at Siemens Mobility.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• You will have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including Science, Maths, and English language.
• You will have achieved or be on track to achieve a Level 3 Engineering Qualification.
• Alternatively, candidates must have achieved or be on track to achieve 3x A-Levels in suitable subjects (such as Maths & Physics).
• Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change.
• Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
