About the Role

Are you interested in UK and European energy markets? If so, this role is perfect for you!

Join our Market Analytics team, where you'll gain valuable insights into energy markets, simulate UK and European energy markets using models, create scenarios for meeting net zero, and maintain and develop market information dashboards and databases. With exposure to various National Grid teams, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.

With a starting salary over £29,000, our 24-month Higher Apprenticeship Programme offers an excellent opportunity to advance your career and work towards the Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship, equivalent to a Higher National Certificate. Throughout the programme, you'll engage in a variety of activities, gaining valuable experience and skills in data analysis.

  • Developing and enhancing energy market dashboards
  • Performing analysis on energy market trends
  • Supporting the development of new platforms for delivering market analytics
  • Running market models to provide business insights and presentations to stakeholders
  • Articulating and explaining market model inputs/outputs to stakeholders
  • Transforming and auditing data to ensure robust data sources
  • Exploring ways to improve data handling methods and implementing best practices
  • Developing a strategic mindset

About You

  • Problem-solver with the ability to apply critical and creative thinking for innovative strategies
  • Excitement about gaining an understanding of key drivers impacting energy markets
  • Self-aware and reflective, engaging professionally with various stakeholders
  • Possessing drive, flexibility, and resilience in all actions
  • Acting with integrity and taking responsibility for decisions and actions
  • Demonstrable numerical and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in computer coding, such as Python, could be advantageous

Entry Requirements

  • Two A-Levels (or equivalents) graded C or above
  • GCSE English and Maths graded at level 4 or above
