Programme Overview

Our Apprenticeship programme offers you an exciting opportunity to jump straight into the professional world and earn a living whilst also studying for professional qualifications. As an Apprentice you will play an active part in driving your career development and will be exposed to a variety of projects across the business. Technical experience is key in our sector, which is why we will provide you with a clear framework to work towards chartership. You’ll be part of a supportive Early Careers community and will work alongside skilled professionals. You’ll benefit from structured on-the-job training, mentoring, plus funding and support for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as the assistance you need to develop and succeed.

Specialism

Our Telecommunications team works across the business providing Network Design, Radio Communication, Structured Cabling and Information systems for a fully connected transport systems at a local, regional, and national level. We apply the latest technology and methodology to design sustainable infrastructure for the future, improving quality of life. Within this team, you will assist in the delivery of project-related tasks and will be able to learn new technical skills focusing on innovation, sustainability, and digital solutions.On this apprenticeship you will complete the BSc Rail & Rail Systems Engineering (Signalling and Telecoms Pathway) with Sheffield Hallam University. This is delivered on a block release basis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have gained a minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications, grade 4-9 Including Maths and English. And 3 A-Levels or equivalent qualifications at BBC minimum to include Maths or Physics, or DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma in a science or technology-based subject.
  • Be a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least three years prior to starting the course and have the right to work in the UK.
  • 18 (Level 6) years old and have left full time education when the apprenticeship starts.
  • You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including Resilience, Creativity, Analytical Thinking and being a Team Player.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (where possible we embrace virtual working).

We have opportunities for school leavers across a range of disciplines, including Engineering, Specialists & Scientists, Consulting and Project Management. On joining Arcadis as an Apprentice, we will support you in working towards your Level 4 or Level 6 qualification in your preferred specialism whilst providing real-world projects for you to be involved in from day one.

We have one main intake of apprentices every year and open for applications in November, for start dates in September.
