You’ll work with diverse teams across the business through six-month placements while studying part-time at the University of Nottingham for a fully-funded BEng (Hons) in Electro-mechanical Engineering. Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, E.ON will continue to support you in achieving chartered status.
During the programme, you'll have the opportunity to select placements based on your interests and career goals, like:
- Designing sustainable district heating systems to help decarbonise cities.
- Collaborating with clients on pioneering solar energy projects, supporting their shift to renewable energy.
- Optimising the performance of critical assets to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Working on advanced technologies such as hydrogen production, heat pumps, and carbon capture solutions.
What we need from you
To join this exciting programme, you’ll need:
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Grade 4 or above in English language and Grade 5 or above in maths.
- 3 A-levels (or equivalent) with at least a Grade B in A-level maths and two additional A-levels at Grade B (or equivalent). Note: citizenship skills, general studies, and critical thinking are not accepted.
OR
- A relevant BTEC engineering qualification, a preceding level apprenticeship, or equivalent demonstrable work experience in the field, which we will review on a case-by-case basis.
What you need to know
- Your base location will be our Nottingham office. We operate a hybrid working model, so depending on placements you will be expected in the office 1-3 days a week, with the flexibility to work from home on other days. Company-funded travel will be required, and you may have placement opportunities at other E.ON sites across the UK
- After your first couple of years on placement, we may encourage you to work at one of our operational sites, such as Sheffield or London, to deepen your skills and understanding of the wider business.
- Your degree will be completed on a block-release basis, with approximately four five-day blocks on campus each year.
- We offer a starting salary of £19,350, with potential for pay progression throughout your apprenticeship based on academic and placement performance.
- Our benefits package includes a pension scheme, 26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and 20 flexible benefits options.
- You may only apply for one E.ON degree/level 7 apprenticeship scheme, so please choose the one that best aligns with your career goals.
