At Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics in Sudbury, Suffolk, we are a global leading manufacturer in the assembly of specialist instrumentation for laboratories and hospitals across the world for Urinalysis, Diabetes, and Blood Gas analytics, and are the only facility in the network to make and ship these products globally.

Apply now for the position of Supply Chain Apprentice and you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in one of the world's leading healthcare companies, alongside gaining a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification.

We are looking for apprentices who want to experience a real working environment, and who want to take advantage of being paid to earn a structured and approved qualification whilst they do it.

Your role:

  • You will learn and develop an understanding of key departments within Siemens Healthineers, and develop a broad range of essential skills and knowledge.
  • You will learn to execute buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials for domestic and international purchases.
  • You will support the planning department by taking ownership of various reports and metrics to ensure optimized inventory and service levels are met.
  • You will manage the supply of materials required to manufacture instruments, reagents and spares ensuring maximum customer service whilst minimizing inventory and physical space utilization.
  • You will ensure accuracy and maintain all relevant material master data within the SAP system.
  • You will communicate proactively with stakeholders on significant changes in supply, ensuring actions are taken to minimize the operational impact.
  • You will spend 20% of your time completing Off-The-Job training, including independent study and internal training.

During this 18-month apprenticeship you will also complete learning modules and projects, and work towards achieving a Supply Chain Level 3 qualification, building a portfolio of work to support your end point assessment whilst guided by your line manager and our apprenticeship manager. 

About you:

  • You will need excellent organizational and time management skills
  • You should have strong analytical skills
  • You should enjoy collaborating and working within a team to find innovative solutions.
  • You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate at all levels including with the public as well as senior leadership.
  • You should have competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Qualifications Required:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4/5 (C) or above, including Maths and English.
  • A Levels at grade C or above, or an equivalent NVQ/BTEC or HNC in a business-related subject.

You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of this 18 month Apprenticeship and meet the Department for Education and Skills funding eligibility rules, including residency criteria.

  • During our Selection and Assessment process for Early Careers, we like to give our candidates the best chance to showcase their potential by using a variety of assessment types.
  • To support the shortlisting process for our Early Careers roles, and to enable candidates to showcase their potential beyond what is on their CV, we will often make use of online assessments or/and on-demand video assessments.
  • Further assessment will take the form of an interview or assessment centre. Assessment centres typically include some combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations and in-tray exercises. Interviews are typically competency based, and may also involve some form of presentation or in-tray exercise.
